Aimlabs is a popular training tool for improving aiming skills in various competitive shooters. While the platform is primarily designed to be used online to track progress, access leaderboards, and utilize all features, there is an "Offline" mode available on the PC version (via Steam).
It's important to understand what the "Play Offline" option actually means in the context of Aimlabs, as it's not a true, disconnected-from-the-internet experience.
Understanding Aimlabs' "Offline" Mode
When you launch Aimlabs and select the "Play Offline" option at the login screen, you are essentially creating and logging into a local account profile on your machine.
- Local Profile, Not Truly Offline: The system uses your Steam information to create a distinct profile on your PC. This profile is separate from any registered Aimlabs account you may have created previously.
- Data Stays Local: The primary purpose of this mode is to allow you to practice without sending your performance data (scores, playtime, etc.) to the Aimlabs backend servers. This means your scores will not be uploaded to global leaderboards, and your playtime will not be logged on the centralized server.
- Distinct Account: If you later create or log into a standard registered Aimlabs account, that is considered a completely different profile.
How to Play Aimlabs "Offline"
- Launch Aimlabs: Start Aimlabs through the Steam client.
- Select "Play Offline": On the initial loading or login screen, look for the option to "Play Offline" and click it.
You will now be logged into your local profile and can access most training modes and settings.
Data Transfer Limitations and Workarounds
Because the "Offline" profile is separate from any registered online account, there are significant limitations regarding data transfer:
| Data Type | Transfer Status | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Scores | Do not transfer | Scores are kept local to prevent submission to leaderboards. |
| Playtime/Statistics | Do not transfer | Statistics are tied to the specific profile where they were generated. |
| Settings (Keybinds, Sensitivity, Crosshair) | Can be transferred (Manual) | These are stored in a local configuration file that can be copied. |
Transferring Settings Between Profiles
If you start playing on the local offline profile and later switch to a new, registered online account, you can manually transfer your settings to maintain consistency:
- Locate the Settings Directory: You need to find the configuration folder associated with your local offline account. The exact file location may vary, but it is typically within the Aimlabs installation directory or a dedicated application data folder on your PC.
- You can copy & paste this shorthand in Windows file Explorer to immediately navigate to the settings folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%LOW\Statespace
- Copy the File: Once located, copy the relevant settings file (this usually contains keybinds, sensitivity, and crosshair configurations).
- Log into the New Profile: Close Aimlabs and relaunch it, this time logging into your desired online, registered account.
- Replace the Settings File: Navigate to the folder where the settings file for the new online profile is stored and replace it with the file you copied from the offline profile.
Note: This method only transfers personalized configurations. Your previous scores, achievements, and statistical progress will remain tied to the original local offline profile and cannot be moved.
